The COurse

This  scenic point to point 13.1 mile course from Dundee Hills to Downtown Carlton provides a unique tour of the heart of the Willamette Valley in Yamhill County, winding past a cluster of four American Viticulture Areas (Dundee Hills, Yamhill-Carlton, Chehalem Mountains, and Ribbon Ridge). The course ends with a warm celebration at the Finish Line Wine and Music Festival presented by Ken Wright Cellars and featuring 20+ local winemakers! Runners will encounter mainly paved roads (closed to vehicle traffic) and 1.6 miles of gravel road. The terrain consists of rolling hills and a net elevation gain of 328 feet.

2 person relay teams will run on the same course, with the exchange point located at mile 6.1 at Abbey Road Farms.

This is a point-to-point course. Designated event parking is available at either the start or finish area, and shuttle bus transportation will be available between both parking locations before and after the race. Gear Check will be available at the starting line and relay transition point and all checked gear will be transported to the finish line. Checked gear must be claimed at the finish line.

Course Time Limit

To enter the half marathon you must be able to finish the course in 3 hours and 30 minutes and keep a 16:00/mile pace or better. Casual walkers are not permitted in the half marathon due to this time limit. 2 person relay teams must also be able to finish the course in a cumulative time of 3 hours and 30 minutes. If you cannot keep the required pace on course, you will not be guaranteed course supervision by law enforcement and volunteers. Transportation to the finish area for non-finishers without medical problems will be provided via the SAG vehicle. In the event you cannot finish the race, or fall behind the 16 min/mile pace, please make your way to the nearest aid station and ask for SAG assistance. The SAG vehicle will be following the final runner/walker and pick up at each aid station.

Aid Stations

Seven aid stations and one wine stop will be placed on-course between the start and finish areas, approximately 1.5 miles apart.  Water will be offered at each aid station and an electrolyte sports drink will be provided at every other aid station. If using other fuels, please discard wrappers in trash receptacles at aid stations, or put them in your pocket and not alongside the road. Local community groups host these stations. Please show your appreciation to volunteers as you pass each aid station and obey the law officers and course monitors who are working hard to keep you safe and happy.
