2020 Registered Runner Info

Hi friends,

As a registered runner you should have received an email from us on 5/20 about the cancellation of the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon with instructions on how to manage your entry through Race Roster. If you did not receive that email please email us and we’ll get you all the info you need.

Since we are three months out from our event we are able to provide generous registration refund policy. You can defer to the 2021 event at no charge, you can donate all or part of your entry to one of our select charities, or you can receive a refund on your entry through June 30th. Instructions on how to select your choice was included in your notification email. If you have questions about how to do this please email us at owchm@sportoregon.org.

We know some events have converted to virtual and we also considered this option, but we felt that the festival atmosphere of the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon is the heart and soul of our event. The unique point to point course, the sense of community at our finish line, and the generosity of all of our winery partners that share their amazing wines with us make the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon experience. We are big fans of the variety of creative virtual events that our peers in the events industry are executing, but ultimately decided a virtual event wasn’t a good fit for us. Rather than use race entry fees to cover the costs of a virtual event, we are encouraging you to donate your race entry fees to Yamhill County nonprofits to benefit the communities that annually host this event.

While some events have been able to postpone to a future date, we felt that was also not a viable option for us due to the impacts of rainy fall weather on our outdoor festival, the wine harvest season and availability of our winery partners, and the uncertainty of the future. With so much change happening right now, postponing the event still would not have ensured that when the new date came we’d be able to produce the event.

We hope that you’ll spend September 6th with a run and a glass of your favorite Oregon wine! Stay healthy and well!
